Our annual update of the waitlist for our subsidized housing programs has begun.
Every five years the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires counties to update their pre-disaster mitigation plans to qualify for both pre-disaster and post-disaster mitigation assistance. WGM Group, Inc., (WGM Group) in coordination with Mineral County and the St. Regis Resort District, will be taking a broad look at natural disasters and a few manmade hazards that could affect Mineral County. We will be examining everything from wildland fires and floods to pandemics or hazmat spills, and looking at how the County would prepare and respond to each scenario.
The Missoula Housing Authority is requesting proposals for both annual A-133 audits and annual audits for each of the Housing Authority’s Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects. All interested parties should submit proposals to the Missoula Housing Authority office by 4:00 p.m. on September 4, 2020.

Missoula Housing Authority has made several policy changes in response to COVID-19. Effective March 16, 2020 all MHA offices are closed to the public. We will continue to serve the public via mail, phone, fax, email, and virtual appointment.

MHA’s Board of Commissioners has decided to move forward with Streamlined Voluntary Conversion (SVC).
Missoula Housing Authority has been awarded an allotment of 20 new Section 8 vouchers through what is called the Mainstream Voucher program. These vouchers will serve families that have disabled members who are 18 or older and under 62 years old.
Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) participant, Bronwyn and her children achieved their long-term goal of owning their own home. According to Bronwyn, “It’s been a journey; setting goals and with the FSS support for inspiration and advice, this is a dream come true”.

Missoula County and the City of Missoula are excited to announce a mixed-use development that will provide homes to individuals and families on fixed incomes, dedicate permanent supportive housing to people experiencing chronic homelessness in our community, and open a navigation center to support people with high barriers to housing, including those re-entering our community from the criminal justice system. This development is made possible through a four-acre land donation by Missoula County.

The Valor House Program gave this Navy Veteran the stepping stone he needed for economic stability and safe housing. Stephen had moved into Valor House 5 years ago, homeless, no income, and desperately in need of a fresh state on life.
This morning MH was living outside, having been homeless on and off for 9 years. At 10 a.m. he had his first meeting with MHA staff to determine his eligibility for Permanent Supportive Housing program known as Shelter Plus Care. By 3 p.m. not only was he approved, the unit located and inspected, he had leased and began moving in!
Chantel, Michael and their 18 month old son, Timmy were half way to Alabama, fleeing homelessness in Missoula, when they received a phone call stating that they had been approved for a Public Housing apartment in Missoula.
