Public Housing Streamlined Voluntary Conversion Notice

May 24th 2019

You are invited to a resident meeting to talk about the Missoula Housing Authority’s plans to convert its public housing units from the public housing program to Section 8 rental assistance under the Streamlined Voluntary Conversion (SVC) program. One meeting is currently scheduled. You are welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting to get more information about Streamlined Voluntary Conversion and the differences between this and the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program that is also still under consideration. The meeting information is:

June 11th, 2019 5:30 p.m. Missoula Housing Authority Board Room 1235 34th Street, Missoula, MT 59801

Streamlined Voluntary Conversion is a voluntary program run by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Under SVC, HUD will change the way it provides rental assistance to the property from public housing to a long-term Section 8 assistance contract. The Section 8 program would make it easier for us to access money to repair and improve the property, either now or in the future.
